Classes
Mysore Classes
Monday to Thursday 6:30-9:00 am
The Shala opens at 6:00 am, and practice continues until 9:00 am. Please note that there is no class on Moondays. As the practice is self-paced, you may arrive at any time during these hours.
Mysore-style practice is suitable for all levels, from complete beginners to experienced practitioners. Students move through the Ashtanga sequence at their own pace, linking movement with breath.
For those new to the practice, Mysore classes offer the opportunity to learn gradually, integrating new asanas step by step while developing a steady and mindful practice. The teacher provides individual guidance throughout the class, offering verbal cues and hands-on adjustments when appropriate, and will introduce new postures as you become ready.
New students are always welcome. If it is your first time practicing with us, please message Anna before attending your first class. If you already have an established practice, you are welcome to simply arrive during practice hours.
Led Class
Friday 6:30am
The Led Class is a fully guided practice in which the teacher counts the sequence in Sanskrit, offering concise verbal cues to support the rhythm and flow of the practice. This format helps students become familiar with the traditional count and structure of the sequence.
Unlike Mysore-style classes, all students move together, following the teacher’s instructions throughout the practice. Unless otherwise stated, the Full Primary Series is led. Students who have not yet learned the entire sequence are encouraged to complete their practice at their last learned posture.
The Led Class begins with the opening chant at 6:30 am every Friday. Doors open at 6:20 am, and students are encouraged to arrive with enough time to settle onto their mat before the practice begins.
Lunchtime Class
Tuesday 12:00pm
A short mid-day guided class where Anna leads you through the Sun Salutations and standing poses of the Ashtanga Primary Series. This 45-minute practice is ideal for beginners as well as experienced practitioners looking to reset, refocus, and find balance in the middle of the day.
Conference
Every other month, we host a conference — a chance for the Ashtanga Yoga Jersey community to come together. During these gatherings, we discuss yoga, philosophy, and of course, we always share some cake!
The conference is free and open to everyone, including both current and prospective students. If you’re new to the shala and would like to attend, please email Anna or subscribe to our newsletter to stay up to date with upcoming dates and events.
